The year is 1953. The idyllic town of Pine Summit rests dreamily about 40 miles east of Los Angeles. However peace is not to be had, for soon it is thrown into.... The War of the Worlds!

First an amazing meteor impact nearby draws the attention of the local townsfolk. Later that night, after the meteor has cooled, the mayhem starts. A strange port opens on the meteor, revealing Martians inside! With the army standing by observing the invaders, the aliens begin their attack!

Rifle-fire, rockets, cannon-fire, missiles, and bombs are all merely brushed aside by the deflector shields of the alien vehicles. The graceful lines of the Martian War Machines completely belie their awesome destructive potential. They hover forward on a "tripod" of electrical energy, completely ignoring all of man's efforts to stop them. The townsfolk flee, as the army makes a desperate stand.

Reports come in that the same thing is happening all over the world. Can nothing stop the Martians?
